PDP to hold national convention in Port Harcourt
« on: September 28, 2018, 08:36:51 PM »
The decision was taken at the just-concluded National Executive Committee meeting of the party held on Friday. Recall that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) summoned its National Executive Committee meeting to discuss the venue for its national convention.

The emergency NEC meeting held in Abuja on Friday, September 28. It was gathered that the convention was slated to hold in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, on October 6 but some members of the party had kicked against Port Harcourt, claiming that the governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike, is rooting for one of the presidential aspirants. One of the presidential aspirants was also believed to have used his influence to break the ranks of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the party on the issue.

This position was made known by a leader of the Delta state PDP youth, Anaborhi Matthew, in Asaba on Friday, September 28, in the wake of various controversies over the choice of Port Harcourt as venue for the presidential primary.
