Emerging reports have claimed that Senator Ademola Adeleke, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the ongoing Osun state governorship election has won his polling unit.

According to an online medium, Sahara Reporters, Adeleke, who voted at the Abogunde/Sagba ward 2, unit 9 in Ede, amassed a total of 154 votes, while Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress had 35 votes Iyiola Omisore of the social democratic Party had 2 votes, same number of votes recorded by Moshood Adeoti of the African Democratic Party. Eight votes were voided.

Although there are 48 parties and thus 48 governorship candidates cleared to contest for September 22 governorship election in Osun state, about five of them are expected to be the major contenders jostling for the 1,246,915 votes..
These contestants include a former secretary to the state government, Fatai Akinbade of the ADC; immediate past secretary to the state government, Moshood Adeoti of the ADP; the candidate of the governing APC, Adegboyega Oyetola; a senator, Ademola Adeleke of the PDP; and a former senator, Iyiola Omisore of the SDP.
