General / *6 Incredible Reasons Why Nigerian Girls Don't Get Married!*

*6 Incredible Reasons Why Nigerian Girls Don't Get Married!*

*They Don’t Value Us*

Any Nigerian man within the shores of this country hardly gets the due respect from ladies!

Just travel to just Ghana or Cameroun the only visa you need to win their love is just to say ‘am a Nigerian’ and Boom! the ladies are all over you like bees to honey.

If you now leave the shores of Africa to any European or Asian country….. u will be a demi god!

Trust me.

So, the next time that babe gives you a wanton look, just save 200k and travel to at least Ghana or better still, get a visa.

*They are not the most endowed*

Most Nigerian ladies , who manage to get a little curve in front or behind them are usually so full of themselves even the “backless and front less babes” won’t even respond to a simple Hello!

Meanwhile, they are not as endowed as their fellow African counterparts, if you doubt me, take a trip to Cameroun, Tanzania, Ghana and a host of other countries, you would need an ‘iron pant’ to keep your ‘guy’ in check.

Yet, this babes adore Nigerian men, the Nigerian women who have but a little, will not even respond to a simple Hello, whether we are lost and need directions, they don’t want to know.

*Don’t let Instagram deceive you*

So the next time any lady ignores you because of a tiny rear light behind her or a fat filled head lamp of a Volkswagen golf 1, in front, just remember; there thousand of of other ladies with Bosch Caterpillar/Bulldozer rare lamps and head lamps that are fuller than that of Nissan Amarda with all the necessary pointers to direct your mind.

Why settle for less?

*They are not the prettiest*

NIGERIAN women are not even the prettiest in Africa “talk less” of the whole world.

So many countries have prettier babes.

Ethiopia for instance have very hot and pretty babes and with their current challenges, it won’t be a bad idea to help the country reduce their economic burden by reducing the number of fine girls they have!

The next time any lady tells you to talk to the finger just remember that there are over 100 Ethiopian woman stretching their hands and fingers, begging you to grab.

Why settle for less?

*They are expensive*

Nigeria ladies are so stingy that they will flash you to thank you for the 1500 airtime you sent to them.

They will never share the bill for a date or even get you a significant gift for your birthday.

From dating till marriage, all the men do is spend, spend spend, we only get very little in return i.e. if we get at all.

Meanwhile if you go to India and marry a Hindu, the girls family will pay u a dowry!

Can you believe that? (When will we start such in Nigeria).

It’s not even a small dowry ooo, the man’s family has the right to reject or accept the dowry (offcos based on how big it is)

So if you spend any dime on your lady and she’s not appreciative enough, ask her for your dowry, don’t stop there, attach a figure to how much you want!

Why settle for less?

Oyetola, who vowed to justify the confidence reposed in him by the people of the state, said he would run all-inclusive and participatory government.

“I want to assure the people of the state that I will serve to the best of my ability and I will run all-inclusive and participatory government.

General / Results of Imo APC primaries, fake – Oshiomhole
« on: October 02, 2018, 07:11:23 PM »
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, on Tuesday described the results being circulated as the outcome of the Imo governorship primaries as fake.
Oshiohmole stated this while fielding questions from State House correspondents after a closed door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Tuesday.
The APC chairman also revealed that the party had disbanded the Ahmed Gulak-led Committee that conducted the party’s governorship primaries in Imo.
According to him, another committee will be set up immediately for the conduct of fresh primaries in the state before the end of the week.
“Imo was not too good news for today, but not surprising they have to learn to begin to comply with rules, they have two fake results, none of them is genuine.
“We will disband and we will appoint a fresh committee (electoral panel) that will conduct transparent direct primaries that reflect the will of members of APC in Imo regardless of the interest and powers that are behind any of the groups.
“The truth does not require supporters club to stand, it has its hands and legs and we will do just that”.
Oshiohmole, who said he was in the villa to update President Buhari on the developments in the APC,  ruled out the possibility of honouring parallel results from states.
On the conduct of the APC primaries in Lagos State on Tuesday, the APC chairman disclosed that the National Working Committee (NWC) was in charge of the primaries and that every situation had been put under control.
“ I told the president that the primaries held as planned and everything is being done to ensure there is no violence because democracy doesn’t flourish with violence.
“Nigerians must begin to learn how to differ in opinion and in choice without fighting; this is something people have to acquire over time.
“For me, I’m excited that if we can do it in Lagos it can be done anywhere.
“Everything that is being done is done under the control, supervision and direction of the NWC.’’
Oshiohmole maintained that no matter how highly a member may be, he or she must subject himself/herself to the constitution of the party.
It would be recalled that the APC National Working Committee (NWC) panel had on Tuesday announced the cancellation of the Lagos governorship primary election, saying the preparatory process for the election had just been concluded.

The Chairman of the panel, Chief Clement Ebri, made this known when he spoke at a news conference in Alausa, Ikeja.

He said : “The preparatory process had just been concluded for the primaries. The primary is to begin anytime soon.

“There was no election. Election materials are being sorted.

“The stage is set and election begins anytime from now. We have guidelines and we will stick to the guidelines.

“Because of the political tension in the state, we decided to be very careful, very methodical. As party men, peace is more important to us than victory.

“We want a kind of victory that will be celebrated by both parties.

“We want an election that will be credible and in line with the guidelines, the extant rules and the laws of the country.

“And that is what we have done. We are ready to go to the field and execute this so that at the end of the day, we will not be accused of partisanship. Lagos is very important to us and it is a flagship of the APC.’’

A renowned lecturer Austin Nweze, and Ayo Baje an author  and columnist has called for total restructuring of Nigeria into independent and strong subregions and a salary structure for politicians that is in conformity with the current civil service salary structure, saying that the current structure of Nigeria doesn’t support productivity and comparative growth while the homogenous take-home pay for politicians and poor performance by politicians have not brought the needed improvement in governance.

The duo who were both speakers at a lecture held yesterday in Lagos to mark the 58th Independence anniversary of Nigeria organized by the Center for Peace Reorientation and Human Development, under the theme 2019 Elections: Finding a Smart Formula for Elections’ Integrity in Nigeria, lamented that politicians have brought more hardship to Nigerians, to such an extent that it does seem that Nigerians would have been better off without politicians and the government they run.

To end the tide of Nigeria’s continuous decline into poverty, Nweze who is a renowned educationist and former governorship aspirant in Ebony State called for a colligate system of government in that would allow for all regions to focus on its development priorities and progress based on areas of comparative advantage.

Nweze further decried the high level of iliteracy and the increasing level of poverty in Nigeria as responsible for electoral flaws and emergence of corrupt leaders. He noted that a well informed citizenship will reduce the chances of bad leaders emerging, saying “less poor people will deliver better elections in Nigeria”.

On the other hand, Ayo Baje worried that politicians and security agencies have not shown any commitment to free and fair elections in Nigeria. He expressed concerns that the recent governorship election in Osun state had been marred by irregularities. He also noted that Nigeria is currently running an Ant Hill type leadership system where politicians are the Kings and Queens who the citizens labour to feed.

Regarding the forthcoming general elections in 2019, both speakers expressed genuine fears saying that the election may not hold in the regular pattern as previous elections, insinuating that there are possibilities of the elections being either delayed or disrupted going by the actions of desperate politicians who are anxious to grab or retain power to the detriment of the wellbeing of the country and it’s citizens.

Politics / Uncertainty Persists Over Lagos PDP Governorship Primaries
« on: October 02, 2018, 04:36:42 AM »
Uncertainty still persists over the governorship primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos state.

Daily Trust reports that the party had postponed the primary twice. It was supposed to hold on Sunday before it was postponed to Tuesday ostensibly in anticipation of the fallout of the primaries of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The APC which had also twice postponed its primary is set for a stormy shadow election tomorrow between the incumbent Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and the former Commissioner for Establishment and Training, Babajide Sanwo-Olu who is the choice of party leadership in the state.

The National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu had endorsed Sanwo-Olu ahead of the primaries tomorrow.

As anxiety over the APC primaries lingers, the PDP is dilly-dallying on its election ostensibly to take advantage of the fallouts from the ruling party.

Many sources in the PDP had confirmed moves by the opposition to woo the embattled Ambode with the governorship ticket to actualize its goal of governing the state.

As at the time of filing this report, many party members are in the dark on the date for the conduct of the PDP governorship primaries.

Spokesman of the party, Mr. Taofik Gani told our correspondent there was “no information” yet on the primaries.

But a chieftain of the party and former Minister of Works, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe in a chat with Daily Trust said the primaries have been postponed indefinitely, saying, “We are not in a hurry at all”.
He confirmed that the party is biding its time to “harvest the mistakes of other parties”.

Asked if the party would hand the ticket to Ambode if he loses out from the APC primaries, he said the party’s ticket is open to him, as well as business mogul, Mr. Femi Otedola, who has been speculated to have gotten offer from the party to be its candidate in the 2019 governorship election.

Only two aspirants – Jimi Agbaje and Deji Doherty – have bought the form to vie for the party’s governorship ticket

General / Primary: Ambode’s supporters protest at APC secretariat
« on: October 01, 2018, 07:55:05 PM »
Some supporters of Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode on Monday staged a protest at the Lagos secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over what they called the party’s plan to manipulate the governorship primary to favour Mr Jide Sanwo-olu.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the protesters, numbering about 200, carried leaves and placards, expressing their displeasure with the electoral process.
Mr Daud Olasheu, who led the protest, alleged that the party leadership had already compromised the process with the adoption of Sanwo-Olu, even before Tuesday’s primary.
Olasheu, Deputy APC Local Government Chairman in Somolu, said that the party was taking a number of other steps to ensure that Ambode did not win the election.
He said they were sure that Lagos residents wanted the governor because of his administration’s strides, and that he would win in a free and fair contest.
“We are here today, first to show solidarity with Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode ahead of the primary and to say we are solidly behind him.
“We are also here to show our resentment over the partial role the leadership is playing in the process, especially with the endorsement of Mr Sanwo-Olu.
“We want to say the party leadership have already compromised the process even before the primary.
“We do not believe in the process and we want the national leadership to do its best to make the primary credible”, he said.
Olasheu alleged that thousands of Ambode ‘s supporters were not issued the party’s membership cards to enable them to vote in the election.
According to him, the failure to issue the cards is a clear ploy pave the way for the emergence of Sanwo-Olu.
He urged the National Working Committee of the party to take over the conduct of the primary and do its best to make the process credible.
The politician said Ambode had done well for the people of Lagos and so deserved support for re-election.
NAN reports none of the state party officials addressed the protesters as they were busy meeting with NWC officials on the primary.
The protesters stayed into the night while the meeting was on-going, chanting solidarity songs in support of the governor.

General / APC, PDP Pick Governorship Candidates Tomorrow
« on: September 29, 2018, 07:06:15 AM »
Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will, tomorrow, pick the governorship candidates of the two parties for next year’s elections.
The primaries will be held in all but six of the 36 states.
Excluded are Anambra, Bayelsa, Ekiti, Kogi, Ondo and Osun states because governorship elections in those states will be held in later years.

The acting National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Yekini Nabena, said direct primaries will be used in Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Cross River, Edo, Ekiti, Imo, Kano, Lagos, Niger, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Taraba and Zamfara.

Adamawa, Benue, Borno, Delta, Ebonyi, Enugu, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers, Sokoto and Yobe are to use indirect primaries.
The two parties have had to adjust their timetables for the primaries several times in the last one month to accommodate inputs of various vested interest groups and to ensure rancour-free voting.
Ahead of its primaries, the APC in Lagos State yesterday commenced the distribution of identification cards to its members.
The state chairman of the party, Alhaji Tunde Balogun, led other executive members to distribute the cards at the ACME Road secretariat of the party in Ikeja.

The cards were distributed to members through selected party leaders across the different councils in the state.
Addressing the selected party leaders, Balogun said the move was to enable members participate in the governorship and subsequent primaries.
He said no fewer than 1.7 million cards were issued based on the data of members.

He appealed to the representatives to ensure the cards were delivered to registered members in their respective areas immediately, saying: ”We have carefully selected you because of your good records in your areas and because we believe you can deliver in getting these cards across to our members .
“I implore you to do your best in delivering on this assignment so that our members can get their cards before the governorship primary on Sunday.”

Balogun directed them to distribute the cards to identified party members immediately in the presence of their council chairmen and council party chairmen in their respective areas.
He said the distribution must also be done in the presence of the state executive members representing each of the 20 constitutionally-recognised councils.

The chairman said that the party arrived at the arrangement to ensure that cards do not fall into the wrong hands.
Balogun warned that for no reason should the cards be given to the wrong people and urged the leaders to return unclaimed cards to the secretariat.

He added: ”Please make sure you check the photographs on the cards before giving them out.
“We do not want a situation where these cards get to the wrong hands. In case you cannot get the owners of some of the cards, please return them to the secretariat; we will know what to do.
“And for some of you who cannot get all the cards because of bulkiness, please do come tomorrow, as that is the deadline for distribution.”

General / Pastor Obinim Fined By Court For Flogging Young Lovers Over Sex.
« on: September 29, 2018, 06:52:38 AM »
A pastor who flogged two young lovers in church two years ago has been fined 12,000 cedis ($2400) for the action that drew huge condemnation across the country.

A Circuit Court in Accra, Ghana, on Tuesday handed down the ruling against bishop Daniel Obinim of the International God’s Way Church and two other junior pastors for their roles in the assault.

A viral video in 2016 showed Obinim and his pastors publicly flogging a young man and woman he described as his children. The two, had been involved in a sexual relation that had eventually led to pregnancy.

Obinim was subsequently arrested by police in the industrial region of Tema after he handed himself in following an invitation from the police over the widely publicized flogging.

“We have just commenced investigation into this issue, when we finish we will hand him over to Domestic Violence Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) to investigate the domestic violence issue,” police disclosed to local media outlet, Joy FM, at the time.

Bishop Obinim was seen on video publicly flogging two young members of his church for indulging in fornication. The pastor used a belt to repeatedly flog the two who are said to be living with him.

The sexual escapades of the two is said to have resulted in a pregnancy – the lady has since delivered and the couple were months back filmed visiting Obinim with the new born. The young lady is said to be an apprentice beauty therapist, whiles the young boy is unemployed.

The flogging was filmed and broadcast on the church’s TV channel and later went viral on social media.

While a lot of people will often criticize those who go into blogging for the sake of money, we think the opinion is lame. First of all, if you treat blogging as a hobby, it means you give it the little attention and time you can spare. Don’t expect to have the same results as someone who is dedicated to it.

Second, blogging in itself has become a business. As common with all businesses, profit is key. Your idea of profit may vary but it will often share a common denominator which is to earn money.

Can you earn via blogging? An emphatic yes! There are quite a number of things you need to know which cannot be adequately explained in this article. You can, however, find helpful information in the other blog posts or materials needed online.

2. Cryptocurrency

Many cryptocurrency enthusiasts liken the opportunity to blood money. You can make insane profit returns from your investment because the market is free from manipulations that is common with fiat money.

However, what makes cryptocurrency profitable also makes it risky. All cryptocurrencies will not always be on green. Smart investors now diversify their portfolio such that if a coin is failing, another crypto investment is covering up for the loss. That way, they continually make profit or cut down their losses.

If you want to invest in cryptocurrencies, you must study how it works and be abreast of new coins that are coming to the market. As usual, always study before you invest.

3. Kindle Direct Publishing

What is it that makes publishing a book online a great side hustle? It’s the fact that once you work hard at it the first time, you don’t have to rework the book anymore. It’s a kind of hustle where you receive payment again and again for efforts you did once and for all.

Kindle Direct Publishing is the publishing arm of Amazon where anyone can write and sell their books provided it is plagiarism free. There’ also Create Space which can publish your hard copy books and sell in foreign countries. It soars your potential of earning more.
Once again, it’s important to understand a business properly. So if you like this kind of business, first devote some of your time to getting all the information you need to succeed at it.

4. Domain Flipping

To begin with, what is flipping? It means to buy something at a lower price and selling it at a higher price. With this definition, it is easy to understand that domain flipping is all about buying domain names to sell at a profit.

A domain name is an address on the internet that directs someone to a website. The most popular marketplace for domain flipping is Flippa. Thousands of buyers and sellers of domain names use the website every day. That is a good place to begin your domain flipping hustle
You must remember not to buy long domain names. The shorter the domain name, the higher your chances of selling. Also look out for domain names that can be a brand. If you love this idea of passive income, you should look up more information on the net.

5. Information marketing

Information marketing is all about gathering information, sifting out what is irrelevant and organizing what’s relevant to offer at a price to those who need the information.

Information marketing has a wide variety of niches. Take for instance the much anticipated JAMB among secondary school leavers is an avenue for information marketers to earn. How? They package Jamb software which is aimed at helping students by providing them

Sport / Luka Modric crowned as best player in the world, 2018
« on: September 25, 2018, 05:02:30 AM »
Luka Modric was named the world's best male player at the Best Fifa Football Awards in London.

The Real Madrid midfielder, 33, beat former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo, now with Juventus, and Liverpool's Mohamed Salah to the award.

Modric won his third Champions League title in a row in May and guided Croatia to their first World Cup final in July.

Brazil and Orlando Pride forward Marta won the best female player award.

France's Didier Deschamps - whose side beat Modric's Croatia 4-2 in the World Cup final - was named best men's coach.

Salah received the Puskas award for the best goal, for his effort against Everton in the Premier League at Anfield last December.

Peru's supporters won the Fifa Fan Award after many thousands of them flew to Russia in support of their nation - playing at the finals for the first time since 1982. This accolade was voted for solely by supporters.

Luka Modric ended Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi's dominance of the best individual accolades in world football, which had stretched back to 2007, when Kaka won the Ballon d'Or.

Modric made 56 appearances for club and country as he won the Champions League and reached the World Cup final - beating England in the semi-final - in what he admitted before the ceremony was his "best season ever".

Former England international Chris Waddle, working as a BBC Radio 5 live pundit, indentified Modric as the type of player that Gareth Southgate's men were missing in that semi-final because of his ability to single-handedly influence games with his understanding and distribution.

Incidentally, England manager Southgate voted for Modric.

The former Tottenham midfielder won the Golden Ball award for the best player in the World Cup after their final defeat by France.

He scored in Croatia's opening two matches of the group stages and also set up one goal.

Croatia manager Zlatko Dalic paid tribute to his talisman after the result was announced, saying the midfielder is like "my assistant in the field".

"Luka Modric is the captain of my team, he's the best player in my team and in the world, and he deserves this award," said Dalic.

After receiving the award, Modric said he was "honoured" and thankful to all the coaches he has worked with for getting him to this stage.

"This award is not just mine. It is my team-mates from Real Madrid and Croatia. Without my coaches, I would not have won this and without my family I would not be the player I am today," said Modric.

Sport / *Sanches Scores as Bayern Beat👊 Benfica 📹*
« on: September 20, 2018, 09:57:54 AM »

Renato Sanches marked his return to the Bayern Munich fold with a superb goal against his former club as Niko Kovac's side ran out 2-0 winners over Benfica in their Champions League Group E encounter.

Having endured a torrid loan spell at Swansea City last term, Sanches was handed his first Bayern start since May 2017 at Estadio da Luz, and - after playing a part in Robert Lewandowski's opener - the youngster duly repaid Kovac's faith in the 54th minute when he got on the end of James Rodriguez's delicate cross.

However, things could have been different if not for Manuel Neuer, who kept Benfica at bay with a string of impressive saves either side of the interval.

Serge Gnabry had a goal disallowed for offside as Bayern looked to extend their lead, but that decision mattered little as Kovac continued his winning start.

Sport / Ronaldo sees red as Juventus beat Valencia 2-0
« on: September 20, 2018, 07:24:47 AM »
Cristiano Ronaldo’s first Champions League appearance for Juventus lasted only 29 minutes as the competition’s record scorer was sent off.

In spite of that, his side opened their Group H campaign with a 2-0 win at Valencia on Wednesday.

Penalties either side of halftime by Miralem Pjanic sealed the points for the visitors as Valencia’s return to European competition after a two-year absence went flat.
The night was overshadowed by Champions League record scorer Ronaldo’s straight red card for a seemingly innocuous tangle in the area with a Valencia defender.

He appeared as stunned as the Mestalla crowd when German referee Felix Brych handed out his punishment.
A penalty miss by Daniel Parejo in stoppage time summed up Valencia’s night.

Sport / Classy Pogba steers Man United to 3-0 win at Young Boys
« on: September 20, 2018, 07:05:08 AM »
Captain Paul Pogba produced an outstanding performance garnished by two goals to help Manchester United to a resounding 3-0 win against Swiss debutants Young Boys Bern.

United defeated the Swiss side in Champions League Group H opener on Wednesday.

Pogba bossed midfield on the artificial pitch and fired United ahead in the 35th minute with a goal of the highest quality.
He scored by drilling a left-foot shot into the top corner from the edge of the penalty area after side-stepping his marker.
The France World Cup winner made it 2-0 with a contentious 44th-minute penalty, harshly awarded by German referee Deniz Aytekin.

It came after Luke Shaw’s cross struck Kevin Mbabu’s arm as the defender tried to avoid contact.
A darting run by Pogba midway through the second half released Anthony Martial and the forward scored with a clinical finish from eight metres.

The goal occured after his compatriot’s good work left him with time and space to find the back of the net.

Roared on by a vocal home crowd, Young Boys charged at United in the opening 30 minutes, forcing two saves by David De Gea.

The Spanish goalkeeper kept out long-range efforts from Mohamed Ali Camara and Christian Fassnacht.

United’s defence looked vulnerable on either flank to the home team’s breakaways, although 19-year-old Portuguese right back Diogo Dalot showed pace going forward on his debut for the Premier League side.

After Marcus Rashford clipped the outside of the post with a flicked shot in the 22nd minute, United’s nerves were settled when Pogba broke the deadlock out of nothing thanks to a piece of sublime individual skill.

Young Boys’ hopes of a comeback evaporated after Pogba confidently converted the penalty and Martial, enjoying a rare start up front, made no mistake at the near post.
United maintained cruise control in the second half

JOBS / 10 Small Scale Businesses You Can Start With As Low As N5,000
« on: September 17, 2018, 08:41:18 AM »
I have been seeing No Job threads on Nairaland, and I thought, with this recession, the most many of us who can't find a suitable job is to equip ourselves with small scale business. In my next post, I would share skills you can learn in 6-12 months that would supplement your university degree and make you lot of money.

If you are looking for small scale businesses to start with as low as 5,000 naira, you have reached the right place.

Ten small scale businesses you can start with as low as five thousand Naira.

1. Zobo making; Zobo ingredients are not expensive, all you need to do is learn from someone who is good, make your product chilled and clean, set a target market.

2. Tiger nut (Ofio) juice making: Blend Tiger nut (Ofio) with date (dabinu), sieve till it's smooth. Pack in bottles and chill. It's one healthy choice of drink.

3. Fresh fruit blending: Start with two whole deliciously ripe watermelons, blend properly till it's smooth, pack in bottle and chill. You can then start mixing fruits to blend.

4. Tea making (hot and cold): People drink tea when they are out. As long as you are neat and your product is not expensive, people will patronize you. Neatness is key to tea making. Make healthy tea like green tea, coffee (Decaffeinated and caffeinated) along with other beverages.

5. Kunu making: Kunu making is also a great idea, learn from someone who is good at it, pack in a bottle and serve chilled. Be neat with your product.

6. Pap making: Making fresh pap for people who don't have time to make it is also a great business idea. You can add garlic and ginger to the pap to make it unique. Soak the grain in water, wash, blend and sieve till very smooth. Some may order for un-sieved pap.

7. Noodles and egg making: Cooking noodles and egg especially for bachelors, and people at work is a great business idea. All you need is prepare it in a nice way. It's a good thing that noodles is fast and easy to make. You can make your product unique by adding carrots and green peas along with other ingredients.

8. Breakfast making: Cooking breakfast for people going to work is a nice business idea. You can choose pap and moin-moin, Yam and egg or other breakfast meal.

9. Dinner making: Most people come back tired from work, think of the kind of food that will sell fast in your area as dinner alternatives for people.

10 Sliced fruits and milk; This is a really cool and easy business idea. Selling processed mixed variety of fruits entices people and makes your market unique. You can slice pawpaw, watermelon, coconut, apple, pineapple and banana, mix together and add milk to it. Serve chilled.

So all these are small scale business you could venture into with as low as 5,000 naira. You can learn all these processes in a short time, and then you apply proper packaging. Go ahead and make money!

The Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has confirmed that Registrations for the 2019 JAMB UTME will begin by the end of October. This directly translates that 2019 JAMB Forms should be on sale before 31st October, 2018. This was confirmed while he was fielding questions from Journalists in Abeokuta

According to Prof Oloyede, JAMB is currently fine-tuning the registration process for the exams, based on experiences from the previously conducted exam. It was noticed that a good number of less qualified candidates applied for the exam last year, thereby causing unnecessary baggage for the board.

Prof. Oloyede had earlier stated that the cost of the JAMB Registration Forms will be left for FG to ultimately decide. He then added that; “We are not interested in the money. We are interested in having adequate preparation for those who are genuine students”.

The actual dates for conducting the 2019 UTME is yet to be announced, but the Registrar has assured the public that it would not clash with the coming 2019 Elections.

For candidates who are still expecting their names on of the various admission lists, you’re urged to always check your admission status on jamb caps . Sales of 2019 JAMB form does not put an end to Admissions for 2018/2019. In fact, in some schools, and based on examgoals experience, admissions are likely to go on even till next .

General / How To Always Take Perfect Selfie
« on: September 09, 2018, 09:35:36 AM »
Have you ever wondered about those perfect looking selfies you see on social media (either by famous celebs or maybe even your friends), and how they come about, and thought 'why do yours never look that amazing and perfect'?
Here are some tips for you to achieve similar feats in your selfies.

1. Get a good camera
Let me start by saying this: a good camera is the catalyst for a great selfie. I mean, you can't take a selfie using a 2mp camera and expect it to be perfect. My dear, you'll just end up with what'll look like an obituary picture.

2. Expose to adequate lighting
Every perfect selfie owes it's credit to the lighting.
Before taking a selfie, make sure your face is properly exposed to adequate light, either natural (sunlight) or otherwise.

3. Consider your background
A perfect selfie requires a perfect background. Never use a background that blends (in terms of colour) with your outfit.
An amazing background will contribute to an amazing selfie.

4. Open your eyes
When taking a selfie, make sure to open your eyes properly (but not weirdly), and fixate them on the camera lens, to get a more charming look.

5. Put on a genuine smile
No selfie can be perfect without a smile.
Stop taking selfies as if the world is ending at your backyard. Smile!
If you're finding it difficult to put on a smile, think of a joke or a pleasant memory that might stir it up.
One time, I had to think of my bank account balance to get on a great smile. wink

6. Tilt your head
Especially for ladies; slightly tilting your head to the side could prove very attractive when taking a selfie. But don't over-do it, otherwise you might end up looking like you got a stroke or something.

7. Be calm and free
One thing about taking great selfies is looking calm and free (looking yourself and down to earth). Don't look too caught up and all serious in it.

Using these tips, you can actually take a perfect selfie without requiring any form of photo manipulations whatsoever.

Extra tip
9. Use filters and edit
Well, I had to add this one. Because after all said and done, some persons would still not be satisfied with how they look.
And if that be your case, get your photo editors out and get busy with the alterations and manipulations, and edit the pic to your taste.

Now, there is no one way to make unripe pawpaw water, and its benefits actually depend on the way you make it. You can use the fruit itself, the young leaves or even the roots of the plant to make this wonderful remedy.

For instance, unripe pawpaw soaked in water can help with stomach ulcers, impotence, ulcer and jaundice. To help with the first two problems, cut up the unripe pawpaw, boil it in water (seeds and all) and leave for two days. After that filter out the liquid and drink half a glass two or three times a day (two for treating impotence, three for stomach ulcer).

To help with the other two problems, cut up the unripe pawpaw and soak it in water for several days. Drink half a glass of the water three times a day in both cases.

Unripe pawpaw juice can also be beneficial for you. Just mix it with an equal amount of honey, and then you can put two spoons of this mix in water and drink it 2-3 times a day to get rid of stomachache.

If you infuse some water with yellow pawpaw leaves and drink half a glass of this drink three times every day, you can treat malaria or protect your immune system against it. By squeezing some pawpaw leaves into a glass of water, you can create a quick relief for constipation.

The liquid from the pawpaw roots can be helpful against cough. Just chew on the roots every three hours to alleviate the unpleasant feeling in your throat.

If you want to prevent the development of kidney stones, take some pawpaw roots, boil them in water and then strain. Mix this pawpaw root water with some honey and drink twice a day for a week.

There are at least seven reasons why you should consider eating this fruit in its unripe form. This green fruit:

Promotes wound healing;

Reduces the risk of you developing a heart condition;

Can ease the pain during menstruation;

Increases lactation;

Reduces the signs of the skin aging;

Can be a great help in infection treatment;

Improves digestive health and many more.

As you can see, there are lots of unripe pawpaw benefits, and pretty much every part of this fruit, including roots and leaves, can be useful for something. A word of warning: pawpaw should not be consumed while it is still green during pregnancy, or by young children. Otherwise, it should be safe, but if you have doubts, consult your doctor. So go out and get yourself some unripe pawpaw to enjoy its many advantages.

General / 53 Nigerians get Chevening scholarships
« on: September 04, 2018, 04:40:46 AM »
The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Amb. Paul Arkwright, has said that 53 Nigerians have been awarded Chevening scholarships for 2018.
Arkwright said this at a dinner organised for the beneficiaries of the scholarship and Chevening Alumni in Abuja on Monday.

He told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the beneficiaries were selected out of no fewer than 6, 000 applications, adding that the number of awardees had increased from 43 in 2017.
“Last year we had 43 and this year it is an increase of 10, to 53 which is great; it means that the standard is very high because over 6, 000 people applied for Chevening Scholarship this year.

“To get 53 scholarships this year is a real bonus and it is wonderful that so many young, intelligent and bright Nigerians want to study in the UK.
“Over 6, 000 applications, this is the highest number anywhere in the world actually.”

He said that 40 per cent of recipients were females and that five out of the 53 scholarships were awarded to people with disabilities.

The envoy disclosed that only one person with disability had been awarded the scholarship in the last 20 years in Nigeria.
“We have increased the number of women from 33 per cent to 40 per cent; our target next year is 50 per cent.

“It is so important that Nigeria encourages girls to go into education. There are 12 million Nigerian children who do not go to school and the majority, are girls and women.

“It is therefore really important that we do everything we can to encourage girls to get the education they need.”
He expressed hope that Nigeria would get a good proportion in the increase of the scholarships to 100 in Africa as recently announced by British Prime Minister, Mrs Theresa May.

Arkwright also said that no fewer than 15, 000 Nigerian students were currently studying in different universities in the UK, adding that a lot of people were taking advantage of British universities.

“I would like to increase that number. Britain is a very welcoming place for students. We like to encourage more people to apply,” he added.

Miss Tinuoluwa Adelegan, Senior Communications Officer of the high commission and a past recipient of the scholarship, said the main focus of the awards was to develop young leaders globally.

Adelegan was awarded a scholarship at Leeds Business School for the 2016/17 academic year.
“The opportunity Chevening scholarship gives is to experience global best practices; it is not just about the UK but people get to mix and learn from others.
“There are leaders that are willing to make a difference, and that is why with Chevening you must come back to your country to make the difference.”

She encouraged more women to apply for the scholarship and advised the new scholars to make the most of the opportunity given to them through the scholarship.
One of the scholarship awardees, Miss Lilian Umeakunne, who is also a crop farmer, said she got a scholarship to study Food Security in the University of Glasgow, Scotland.
“The process of applying for the scholarship takes you through a path of self-discovery and you do not have to know anybody to apply.

“I had to search within, know what exactly I wanted to do with my life to try to answer the four essay questions, gave examples of the work I had done, the impact and results achieved during the interview.”

Umeakunne said she had spent more than six years working with women farmers and hoped to apply her new skills to address challenges faced in the agriculture sector.
She added that she was a first-time applicant.
Another recipient, Mr Damian Ohienmhen, who is a co-founder of Nugenesis Energy, was also awarded a Masters scholarship in Sustainable Energy at the University of Glasgow.
Ohienmhen said he had applied for the scholarship for three consecutive years before being finally rewarded.
“I was fortunate to be selected for the interview; I actually applied three times in a row and I was always rejected.
“No one tells you why but I realised that my application became stronger each time I applied and I am glad because I grew as a person and my desire to study in the UK gained greater clarity.
He advised aspiring applicants and those whose applications were not accepted not to be discouraged.
The Chevening Scholarships Programme commenced in 1983 as the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Awards Scheme and is funded by the British Government’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

The blue light from digital devices like smartphones could accelerate
blindness, researchers found.
According to a research by the University of Toledo in the U.S., exposure to blue light continuously might cause poisonous molecules to be generated in the eye’s light-sensitive cells and lead to macular degeneration.

Reaserachers said as one of the leading causes of blindness in the U.S., macular degeneration does not lead to total blindness, but can make daily activities difficult.
“It’s no secret that blue light harms our vision by damaging the eye’s retina.
“Our experiments explain how this happens, and we hope this leads to therapies that slow macular degeneration, such as a new kind of eye drop,” said Dr Ajith Karunarathne, an assistant professor in the university’s department of chemistry and biochemistry.
Macular degeneration is caused by the death of photoreceptors, a kind of light-sensitive cells.

Photoreceptor cells need molecules called retinal to sense light and trigger signalling to the brain, enabling us to see.

“If you shine blue light on retinal, the retinal kills photoreceptor cells as the signalling molecule on the membrane dissolves,” said Kasun Ratnayake, a PhD student at the University of Toledo who was involved in the study.
“Photoreceptor cells do not regenerate in the eye. When they’re dead, they’re dead for good,” Ratnayake added.

To protect eyes from blue light, researchers advise people to wear sunglasses which filter both UV and blue light outside and avoid using smartphones or tablets in the dark.
